MEET ASHLEY SUNDQUIST

IMG_0315.jpeg

Hi there, I'm Ashley!

Thank you for checking out my travel stories, motherhood adventures and creative projects.

I was born and raised in the land of crabcakes, Old Bay and Wawa.

I find it hard to keep strangers from becoming friends. Alice in Wonderland (1951) is just my favorite. I'm not afraid to be the first one on the dance floor.

I am proud to be a Google Maps Local Guide and received the 2020 Guiding Stars Helpful Hero award for my work on behalf of the homeless in Santa Monica. I received a Commendation from the City of Santa Monica in 2021 for my contributions to the neighborhood.

I enjoy a good deep stretch and was trained as a Yin & Restorative yoga teacher in 2019 by Govind Das and Angel Greenhut at the Bhakti Yoga Shala. I trust in God with all of my heart and try my best to live more like Jesus.

To forever honor my family's origins in County Wicklow, I legally adopted my maiden name, Nolan, as my middle name.

I've traveled to 36 countries on 4 continents and brought our toddler to 8 of them.

I love fitness, sunflowers, croissants, pyrography, wearing big hats, cats, woodworking and talking to my sisters.

I enjoy live theatre and eating snacks.

I'm a big reader with a voracious appetite for travel books, historical fiction and novels by Daniel Silva. My husband Josh and I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of having a massive bookshelf with a sliding ladder.

I got interested in woodworking from my brother, Michael who is a talented artist. He handmade the benches and tables for our Eastern Shore wedding.

I love it when I remember that growing old is a privilege and that it's a blessing to be alive.

I live and work in Santa Monica with my incredible Josh who I met on the dance floor of a bar in Washington, DC. And yes, I approached him first.

We have an amazing son whose laugh is my favorite sound.

To me, "Adventure Unabashedly" means living with purpose and leading with love.

What does it mean to you? Now, let's get out there and do something amazing.

Love,

Ashley
